Getting Over Anger

Preventing Anger

How to avoid getting angry in the first place

Refrain from getting into a position of weakness.

Always have alternatives to whatever you are planning. Be in touch with (all) your options.

Reduce your expectations. Don’t make demands. Don’t try to do the impossible. All outcomes are uncertain.

Predict behavior. Practice predicting what people will do and deciding how to handle it ahead of time. Expect people to do and say stupid things. And don’t take them personally. (People only tell you about themselves.)*

Get your life (and the situation) under control before it gets out of hand. Reduce your tension level. Continuously build strength through success. Accept responsibility for everything that happens to you.

Always make you own decisions. Even if someone makes a decision for you, think it over, consider the consequences, and make up your own mind. That way you remain in control.

Don't make excuses. No one ever makes excuses for doing something right.
