Throughout my life, whenever I have helped someone I never asked for anything in return, not money, or thanks, or anything. I helped because I wanted to. I did it for me. I’ve been that way as long as I can remember and my years of volunteer work is at least one demonstration of that.
If someone helped me I hope it would be because they want to. Not even a thank you would be required. It would just be something they want to do.
