USING GOOD COMMUNICATION

IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Everything you ever do with another human being involves communication. Communication is the "life-blood" of Life itself. The more a person communicates, the more alive he is.

But it also can be said that communication can get you into quite a lot of trouble.

The difference is good or bad communication.

Communication is both a skill and a talent, a science and an art. It is both mechanical and spiritual. It can be limited in its mode, and unlimited in its content. Done poorly it causes problems. Done well it can solve problems or bring about exquisite joy.

And it can make or break a person's life.

The People Games can only be considered a beginning communication program. It is a simple and easy step. It makes use of much of the understanding of communication that has been discovered in the past few hundred years, but it makes no effort to teach communication.

As expressed in the Games, it is easy to see that two-way communication is usually more interesting and more fun than one-way. It's nice to feel the freedom of knowing one doesn't have to communicate if he doesn't want to. And it is rather interesting to spend two entire hours talking without ever being invalidated or put down. It is nice to discover how many things we do have in common with people and how much alike people often feel. And some of these things, we hope, will be carried out into life in general.

To learn more about communicating, about "what went wrong?" and about communicating better, one has only to reach out. Read books. Take courses. Be interested in yourself, and also be interested in others. It takes two to communicate. Check out Lifetalk Communication for more info. Meanwhile, the next time you ask yourself, "To communicate, or not to communicate?" remember one of my favorite quotes: "When in doubt, communicate!" and do it just as well as you can.
