Conversation Carnival

GROUP CONVERSATIONS

THE MERRY-GO-ROUND: A light and easy conversation game with many enjoyable topics. Six players maximum.

CHALLENGE: A debater's delight! You can disagree at any moment with a blast on the "Challenge horn." Six players maximum.

THE "I" FACTORY: You needn't talk at all if you don't want to, and no one can talk about you...because the word, "you", is totally forbidden. Six players maximum.

"4" AND AGAINST: A debater's dilemma. You will argue "for" at one point and "against" at another...on the same subject! Four players maximum.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE: Puts you under the gun. You have to speak when your number comes up. Six players maximum.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

There shall be no arguing, fighting, or stepping on other people's toes. No challenging or contradicting---except in 4 & AGAINST and CHALLENGE! Also, remember, you don't have to answer anything---except in RUSSIAN ROULETTE. Risk taking is NOT necessary---unless you want to have a good time.

1.Don't argue or fight during the game. Wait until after.

2.Be inquisitive! And listen! If you don't feel in touch with what your partner is talking about, ask more about it.

3.Answer the questions any way you like. If you don't want to answer, just say, "I pass", and no further explanation is necessary.

4.Don't try to give "super" answers. We're not playing "Can you top this?" Just give the first answer that comes to mind.

On each table there is a stand which includes the following instructions and the four topics related to the carnival event.

The Conversation Carnival was great for a Saturday night party with lots of people (as many as 40).

As many as 12 tables might each have a game stand with a carnival significance, Ferris Wheel, Fun House, etc. Guests will get a drink and/or snack and wander around. They can choose a single partner and get a ticket for a carnival ride or sit at a table with several others playing Side Show or Shooting Gallery or any of the other carnival events.

The original Welcome Brochure is shown below to give you a sense of the party-game atmosphere.

The topics for the Rides and the Couples Conversations follow.
